Birmingham’s Balls: How Leaflets Can Help Charity Events

The festive season is now officially over but during this period Birmingham city centre was brought to life with shimmering disco balls, gorgeous gowns and top musical acts. The ball season is normally throughout autumn and winter, leading up to Christmas and with the enormous Snowball in Birmingham as a highlight. The charity event season isn’t just exclusively around Christmas time though; throughout the year there are a variety of charity events, particularly at the Universities.

The ball season was kicked off in style by the Harry Moseley foundation. This magnificent ball was held at the International Conference Centre on Saturday 19th October and over 1000 guests attended. With a champagne reception, magicians, celebrities, photo booths and an auction it was an incredible night. The Harry Moseley foundation was set up by Harry Moseley, an 11 year old boy, and his parents when he knew he was dying of a brain tumour. His campaign started small with Harry raising money through making beaded bracelets. The campaign grew through word of mouth and traditional marketing methods such as leafleting in the local area to become the huge charity that it is today.

Last month the Snowball, held at the Jools Holland Live venue The Jam House, made a spectacular highlight of the Christmas and New Year party season. Over 300 people from the largest businesses in Birmingham attended the event which was jointly in aid of Midlands organisation Property for Kids and Birmingham’s Women’s Aid. Each company that attended was obliged to bring a Christmas gift which was given to Birmingham and Solihull’s Women’s aid to distribute to the area’s disadvantaged children. According to The Birmingham Post the event was a great success but it couldn’t have been possible without a strong marketing campaign.

Just because the party season is now over doesn’t mean the charity events should stop. There are chances to host themed charity events for dates such as Burns Night, Valentine’s dinners or dances and then there are opportunities coming up for spring flings, ceilidhs and Easter fairs too. If you are thinking of organising a charity event or even an appeal for a good cause then our leaflet distribution in Birmingham could really help you on your way to success. People forget that leaflet marketing campaigns aren’t just for businesses advertising their products; they can be invaluable for other causes as they really help to get the message across.
